Who is behind it
Websitecontrole is built by Niek ten Hoopen, who has been building websites for over twenty years. One person, on his own initiative, because good security should not sit behind a paywall or a sales call.
Why it is free
There is deliberately no company, no upsell and no referral behind it. Websitecontrole sells you nothing and links to no agency. It is a sincere effort to make the internet a little safer, nothing more.
Neutral and checkable
No account, no data selling. Every verdict follows from public rules and shows its evidence underneath, so you can check it yourself rather than take a letter on trust.
